Over the years the S'NS wheelchair survey—now celebrating its silver anniversary—has seen many people, companies, devices, and ideas come and go. But after all is said and done, are today's "lightweight" wheelchairs an improvement over the past and as good as they get—or will they continue becoming better and better? And why should you be involved and help designers build a better wheelchair?

In "R&D—What It Means To You," author Rory A. Cooper, PhD, says that research and development may seem dry, boring and unrelated to you, but R&D could very well change your life.
